Kemesha Forbs
Hello , my name is Kemesha Forbs, a devoted professional counselor associate holding a postgraduate addiction counseling certificate from Albertus Magnus College, a Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Science degree in human services. I am currently a full-time Ph.D. student attending National University.
Over the years, I have accumulated the necessary clinical skills needed to effectively assist and engage with a variety of clientele made up of adults, teenagers, parents, and families while navigating challenges related to substance abuse, addiction counseling, depression, anxiety, mental health issues, trauma, PTSD, schizophrenia, ADHD, and bipolar disorder. Likewise, my experiences have profoundly shaped my firm conviction in the innate resilience of each individual, as I believe in the achievability of success with the proper support.
Conversely, my approach to counseling goes beyond traditional methods, incorporating innovative and holistic techniques to address the complexities of mental health.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Through CBT, we work to replace irrational thoughts. Thoughts that once led to depression, anxiety and anger will be replaced. This lead clients to feel empowered and in control of how they feel.
Furthermore, beyond the confines of my professional life, I am an avid reader, finding
inspiration in literature that explores the intricacies of the human mind and spirit.
