Philosophy

At Hope Speaks Counseling, we believe everyone should have access to affordable therapy. Whether you have insurance or not, we offer low-cost therapy throughout Connecticut for only $50 per session for individuals, couples and family therapy. These sessions are held by masters level student therapists through our clinical training program.

About our Clinical Training Program

Our graduate clinical trainees are carefully selected and are closely supervised by a licensed clinical supervisor and work collaboratively with University clinical staff to ensure that you receive high quality services. Clinical trainees work with individuals, couples and families of all ages and from various cultural, sexual, ethnic and religious backgrounds. browse our clinical teams’ profiles below to find the right fit for you.

Are interns qualified?

Yes! interns have completed all of their course work to receive their masters degree in counseling. Internship is an opportunity for them to implement what they have learned.

What are the benefits of working with clinical interns?

  • Interns are actively learning the most up-to-date techniques and theories in mental health and psychology.

  • Interns are supervised by at least two supervisors (Site supervisors and educational supervisor), which means you have the benefit of having two or three professionals dedicating to helping you achieve your goals.

  • Interns are able to provide a sliding scale while working to obtain their counseling degree

  • All interns are supervised by Nardine Staroverov, LMFT.
